Facility Inspections

Grade: A

In addition to receiving a great overall score, this facility also received top notch government inspections in recent years. We gave them one of our better scores in that category, with a grade of A. Inspection grades are tied to pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this category have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Although this nursing home had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were severe based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In addition, this nursing home also was given favorable long-term care grades in our assessment. Indeed, we gave them one of our more favorable scores in that category, with a score of B+. Facilities that receive this type of score in long-term care tend to provide consistent around the clock care to make sure patients are kept in good health. Once we finished looking at the volume of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the facility's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 98.46154 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia sadly can be a life or death illness for nursing home patients so we like it when a facility does not leave its residents vulnerable. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

Another one of this facility's impressive category grades came in the area of nursing care. We awarded them one of our better scores in that area, with a grade of B. Our nursing rating is primarily based on the nursing home's nurse staffing. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The final area we assessed is short-term care. In this area, we awarded this nursing home a decent grade of B-. This proved to be this nursing home's least impressive area. Our short-term care ratings are probably more meaningful for individuals needing a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually requires additional highly-skilled nursing services. This includes not just nursing services, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. We weren't able to track down registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. The last statistic we assessed in this area is the number of residents that eventually returned home from the nursing home. We found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
