Nurse Quality

Grade: D

We really weren't high on this facility's overall grades or its category grades. We gave it just a just D in nursing and that proved to be its best grade. The nursing score analyzes quite a few components, however, the most important one is the number of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day, which is slightly below the national average. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing ratings. This place fared well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: D

Sadly, this facility only earned a grade of D for its long-term care score, which happens to be one of its better category scores. In a long-term care setting, the facility's primary goal is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. After we finished looking at the amount of nursing care, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination records. We were optimistic to discover that this nursing home vaccinates 95.08197 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than most nursing homes. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.

Facility Inspections

Grade: D

Unfortunately, with a grade of D in the inspection category, this facility performed relatively poorly in that area. Our inspection grades weigh several factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. This particular nursing home was hit with 5 deficiencies on its inspection report. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that suggest that they posed a threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We would not recommend this facility under any circumstance.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

Turning to the fourth category, this nursing home really didn't fare well in this category either. With an abysmal grade of F in short-term care, this is just about as terrible as it gets. Our short-term care scores are considered to be most important for folks requiring rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation typically mandates higher levels of highly-skilled nursing. This means not just nursing services, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. With a grade in this range in this category, we were not stunned to discover this nursing home was well below average in multiple staffing areas we focus on. It supplied substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most nursing homes. Finally, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. This was not a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 2.7 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home. At most facilities, around half of their patients are able to return home so this is well below average.
