Facility Inspections

One of the reasons this turned out to be a great nursing home is that it earned an A+ inspection grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this category. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection ratings. One critical factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are quite insignificant. It doesn't look like we were able to find deficiency counts for this nursing home. Without having access to complete deficiency data for this nursing home, it is a challenge to assess it in the inspections category.

Nurse Quality

We also awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our nursing grade. Nursing ratings are mostly based on the nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the country in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as by having a policy of turning residents more often.

This facilities third best area is short-term care. We awarded it a grade of B- in this area. This is basically a middle of the road score in this category. In forming these short-term care grades, we look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists.
