Registered Staff Hours
Neither this facility's overall grade nor its category grades gave us much to write home about. This place's best category was nursing, but even there it received a grade of just D. This is still a well below average score. The nursing category includes a handful of subcategories, most of which are tied to quantities of nurse staffing. This facility provides 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is slightly below the national average. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing grades. This place performed well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
Among this facility's alarming grades was an F for its inspection score. Generally, this means we found some red flags on the facility's inspection reports. For facilities with bad inspection scores, you should really scrutinize any severe deficiencies found on their recent inspection reports. This particular nursing home was assessed one deficiency on its inspection report. Fortunately, it was not in one of the categories that suggest that it posed a threat to patient safety or health. Finally, we need to draw your attention to the fact that this place was assessed significant government fines recently amounting to more than $100,000. This often means that a poor performance spanned several years.

Long-term Care Quality
Another issue was the F this nursing home received in the area of long-term care. In a long-term care environment, the facility's primary goal is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. After considering the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination data. We were pleased to discover that this nursing home vaccinated 97.63593 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than most nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we looked at is short-term care. Unfortunately, we gave it a lowly F in this category, which is an abysmal grade. In determining our short-term care grades, we size up a facility's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This rating is more often than not a solid assessment of the nursing home's rehabilitation. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we considered the number of residents that returned home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.4 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
