Facility Inspections
We want to point out that this nursing home really outperformed its overall score in the category of inspections. In fact, it received an excellent government inspection report this year. As a result, we gave it one of our highest grades in that category with an A-. Arguably the most important factor we look at in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Places with better grades in this area typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. While this nursing home had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G through L. This tells you the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple relatively minor deficiencies are not something to panic about.
Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home also was awarded a strong score in our short-term care category. We awarded this facility an above average grade of B+ in that area. In the category of short-term care, we attempt to assess measures of a facility's rehabilitation. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents who who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 5.7 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality
Next, we looked at the nursing category where we awarded this nursing home a grade of C, which is a decent grade. There are several subcategories included in this category. Most of these factors reflect staffing levels. This nursing home averages 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis, which is a very low figure. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility actually fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. It scored well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home's least impressive category was long-term care, which is the final area we assessed. For this category, we awarded this nursing home a D. In a long-term care setting, the primary goal is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 99.2629 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this nursing home was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. It had just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Sadly, a few of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
