Facility Inspections
Although we graded this nursing home incredibly poorly overall, it actually earned a relatively impressive government inspection report this year. As a result, it earned one of our better grades in that area with a B. Our inspection scores are tied to many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these inspections. You should especially avoid nursing homes that have severe deficiencies linked to endangerment of patients. This particular nursing home received 11 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.
Nurse Quality
Remarkably, we awarded this nursing home a grade of C for our nursing rating, which isn't a bad grade. Nursing grades are largely based on the facility's level of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This figure is far below the national average. Finally, despite not having the highest total nursing hours per resident, this place performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is typically an indicator that a facility has sufficient quality controls in place.

Short-term Care Quality
The third area we assessed is short-term care. This nursing home's received a low-end short-term care grade where it received a lowly F. Our short-term care scores are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This means a wide range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, in addition to other variations of therapy. Considering its score in this area, we were not stunned to find that this place was well below average in terms of its number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the figures we assessed. Honestly, this was what we expected to find. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents that ultimately were able to return home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.5 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we graded was long-term care, in which this nursing home was given an abysmal score here as well. We gave it a lowly F in this category, which is obviously somewhat alarming. When facilities receive this kind of grade in this category it is typically a bad sign for resident care and it may indicate that the nursing home is not as well-staffed. After assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination records. Unfortunately, this facility vaccinated a relatively low 75.39683 percent of its patients against pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This is its best score in this category.
