Facility Inspections
While we didn't give this facility a good overall grade, we actually gave it a strong grade in the area of inspections, where it earned a B+. These inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Although this facility had a few deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were serious based on CMS' scale. A few minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home's second most favorable category ended up being its long-term care score, where it received a B-. In our long-term care category, we look at the sheer quantity of services provided by a facility, along with a handful of quality metrics. Once we finished looking at the volume of nursing care, we turned to the facility's vaccination records. We were pleased to discover that this nursing home vaccinated 97.27627 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Finally, this place was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, this facility only received a grade of D for its nursing grade, which was actually one of its better category grades. Our nursing rating considers several datapoints. The most important one is the quantity of hours nurses spend with patients. This facility offered just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This is well below average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing scores. This nursing home performed well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we looked at is short-term care, in which this nursing home received a bottom of the barrel grade in this area as well. Unfortunately, we gave it a lowly F for this category, which is obviously very concerning. In determining our short-term care ratings, we size up a nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists speech therapists and other licensed professionals. This category is often a solid assessment of a facility's ability to rehabilitate patients. With a grade of this caliber for this category, we weren't surprised to find that this place was below average in two of the key staffing metrics we assess. The nursing home provided substantially fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most nursing homes. The final datapoint we assessed in this area is the number of patients who eventually returned home from the facility. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 4.6 percent of its patients returning home.
