Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to being a quality facility overall, this facility especially excelled in the area of inspections, where it earned a grade of A+. Few facilities performed better in this area. These inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Although this place had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in this industry.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

This facility received impressive scores in the area of short-term care as well. Indeed, we awarded it one of our most dominant scores in that area with a area of A-. In computing our short-term care scores, we scrutinize the facility's levels of highly skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. This score is typically a useful assessment of the facility's rehabilitation services. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 6 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

The next highest grade we gave this nursing home came in the category of nursing, where we gave it a grade of C. This wasn't quite as good as some of its other scores, but a grade in this range is not the end of the world. The nursing rating analyzes a handful of factors, many of which are based on nursing hours. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Lastly, despite not having the highest total nursing hours per resident, this facility performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is generally an indicator that a facility has sufficient quality controls in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

Our last category is long-term care, in which we awarded this nursing home a C in that area. If you are seeking services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care grades. After we finished assessing the amount of nursing care, we turned to the facility's vaccination records. We were optimistic to find that this nursing home vaccinated 99.486305 percent of its patients against pneumonia. This place keeps its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
