Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

To add to its elite achievements in other areas, we gave this facility a grade of A for its short-term care grade. Short-term care ratings are crucial for patients in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually requires more skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes a vast spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients that returned home from this nursing home. We found that 6.2 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

We also wanted to note the fact that this nursing home was given a dominant grade of A in our long-term care area. Facilities that excel in this category typically provide patients with more supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. One of the factors we considered after nursing hours is vaccines. This facility administered the pneumonia vaccine to 99.41521 percent of its residents. Vaccination is a proven method to minimize unnecessary hospitalizations for the aged 65 and up population. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

In our last category, we gave this facility a grade of A+ for our nursing score. This topped off a very favorable report card. There are many data points within this grade. Many of the criteria relate to staffing levels. This particular nursing home provided 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
