On top of being a first rate facility overall, this facility also excelled in the category of nursing, where it received a grade of A+. Few nursing homes fared better in this area. Our nursing score analyzes the facility's level of nurse staffing. We weigh both the levels of licensure of the nurses and the quantity of hours spent with residents. This facility provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to alert you to the fact that this facility fared very well in our short-term care category. We awarded them an elite grade of A+ in this area. In the category of short-term care, we strive to qualify measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 6 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

In addition, this facility also earned excellent inspections in recent years. We awarded it one of our best grades in that area, with an A-. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing these inspection ratings. One key factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies end up being quite minor. While this nursing home had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Moving on to our last area, this nursing home also performed admirably in the long-term care category. In fact, we awarded it an A- for this category. This completed truly elite report card. Facilities that excel in this category tend to be well-staffed and offer extensive hands on care to residents. After considering the amount of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia can be a deadly illness for nursing home residents so we prefer when a nursing home doesn't roll the dice on this issue. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
