Registered Staff Hours
Long-term Care Quality
We just could not find anything positive to say about this facility. It received just a D in long-term care. Nursing homes that don't fare well in this category often do not provide as much nursing care and also may be struggling in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we assessed. One of the criteria we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours was vaccines. Frankly, we were a bit worried that this nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to just 49.23858 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This was its best score in this category.
Facility Inspections
We also wanted to point out this facility's inspection grade where it received an F. This generally means we found some major red flags on its inspection reports. For nursing homes that received this bad of an inspection grade, we would scrutinize the severe deficiencies on its inspection report. This nursing home had 4 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only positive thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they caused a threat to resident safety or health. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.

Short-term Care Quality
The third category we analyzed is short-term care. This facility's received a rock-bottom short-term care score where it was given an F. In calculating our short-term care grades, we scrutinize a nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This category is more often than not a useful measure of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents that ultimately returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.9 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was well off the national average.
Nurse Quality
The last area we assessed was nursing, where this facility was given a rock bottom score in this area also. We gave it an F in this area, which is definitely a major concern. The nursing grade considers a number of factors. The most heavily weighted one is the quantity of hours nurses spend with patients. This particular facility provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This statistic is significantly below the national average. In addition to its weak nursing hour totals, this place earned suboptimal scores in many of the quality-based metrics we considered in determining our nursing grades. We found that more of this place's patients suffered falls leading to major injury. We would argue that many falls could be prevented with better nursing care. This metric contributed to this place receiving a poor nursing score.
