Facility Inspections

Grade: B-minus

Although we were not high on this facility overall, we gave it a grade of B- for inspections. This grade is more respectable than the place's overall score. We believe that one of the most important factors in assessing an inspection report is deficiencies. In this regard, we especially focus on the severity of those deficiencies. This facility was hit with 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This means that the inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies to pose an imminent risk to patient safety or health. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of B-. Our nursing rating is based on several factors. The most important one is the amount of time nurses spent with residents. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Finally, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this facility performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically an indicator that a place has quality controls in place.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facility was awarded its third most favorable category score in the category of short-term care. We awarded this nursing home a grade of B- in this area, which is an acceptable grade. Short-term care ratings are based on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a vast scope of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. We found that this nursing home was below average in the two key staffing areas we looked at. It offered fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. It is still important to determine whether this also correlates to a lower quality of care. Finally, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The final category we scored is long-term care. This facility was awarded a grade of B- in the area. In determining our long-term care grades, we size up the assistance with daily living offered to the facility's patients. On top of considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Fortunately, this nursing home provided the vaccine to 99.672134 percent of its patients, which is a very respectable statistic. Lastly, this nursing home was also able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
