Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

This nursing home received a strong overall grade as described above, but we especially wanted to point out its excellent inspections in recent years. We gave it an A+ in this category. Inspection grades weigh several factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher grades in this category tend to have very few severe deficiencies. This facility was hit with 7 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered to be major deficiencies. This indicates that CMS did not consider any of these deficiencies to cause an immediate threat to resident safety or health. Remember that deficiency-free inspection reports are rare in the industry.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This facility also was awarded an impressive short-term care score. Indeed, we gave it an above average grade of B+ in this category. Our short-term care ratings are based on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a wide spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final measure we assessed in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that 5.6 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

Another strong feature for this facility is that it received an impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B. There are several criteria included in this area. Many of the subcategories reflect the quantity of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The next area we rated is long-term care. We gave it a C in this category. This is a fair grade in this category. With our long-term care rating, we analyze the sheer volume of care offered by a nursing home, along with a few quality metrics. On top of assessing the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Fortunately, this nursing home vaccinated 99.42197 percent of its residents, which is an above average percentage. Finally, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
