To pair with its favorable overall score, we awarded this facility an A- for the area of inspections. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining these inspection scores. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be relatively insignificant. Although this facility had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were severe based on CMS' scale. A couple relatively minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.

This facility was given its next best category grade in the area of short-term care. We awarded this facility a grade of B- in this category, which is a reasonably acceptable score. Our short-term care grades are important for individuals looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually utilizes higher levels of highly-skilled nursing. This includes a wide range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. We were pleased to find that this nursing home employs both registered nurses and physical therapists. The same can't be said for all nursing homes. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return home from this facility and found that this nursing home performed better here. In fact, this nursing home performed better than most facilities in the country in this area with 53.4 percent of its patients returning home.

In our long-term care assessment, we analyze the quantity of care offered by a facility, as well as a few quality metrics. On top of considering the high level of care provided by nurses and other staff at this nursing home, we also were impressed by the facility's vaccination record. By way of example, this facility administered the pneumonia vaccine to 94.21296 percent of its residents, which is very respectable. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
