Facility Inspections
The main reason this nursing home received a decent overall score is its impeccable inspections in recent years. We awarded them one of our better grades in that category, with an A+. This is a notably better score than the place's overall grade, which was decent but certainly not elite. Inspection grades are tied to many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this category tend to have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Although this place had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. A few minor deficiencies shouldn't stop you from considering a nursing home.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home's long-term care grade ended up being one of its best features. The nursing home was awarded a C in this area. For patients looking for a permanent place to live rather than skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. In addition to considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 78.61842 percent of its residents. This is several points below what we were hoping for. Fortunately, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, this facility's next best score was short-term care. As it turns out, with a D in this category, it still fared relatively poorly. Our short-term care grades are crucial for patients looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually utilizes more highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes a broad range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Considering its grade in this area, we weren't stunned to find that this nursing home is well below average in terms of its number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the metrics we looked at. Frankly, this was about what we expected to find. Finally, we considered the number of patients that returned home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 5.3 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
Nurse Quality
The final category we rated is nursing, which is this nursing home's least impressive category. We awarded this facility a D in that category. Nursing scores are heavily correlated with levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades.
