Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

Even though we were not complementary of this nursing home's overall grade, it actually received an impressive short-term care grade this year. We gave it a B in this category, which proved to be a rare shining light in its profile. In the area of short-term care, we strive to assess indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. We weren't able to find information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients that were able to return home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B-minus

We also awarded this nursing home a grade of B- for our inspections rating. This score is a more impressive than the facility's overall grade. These inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' scale. A couple minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

This nursing home actually received a decent grade in the area of nursing as well. We awarded it a grade of B- for that category, which is not a bad score. There are a number of factors included in this grade. Many of the factors reflect levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Lastly, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this place actually performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically a good indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

The last area we analyzed was long-term care. This nursing home was given a rock bottom grade of F in this area. Long-term care grades of this caliber generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids, as well as the levels of routine medical care available. On top of looking at the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 84.47205 percent of its residents. This is multiple points below what we were hoping for. Surprisingly, this facility actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
