In addition to being a quality nursing home overall, this place excelled in our inspections category, where it received an A+. Few facilities fared better in this category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating our inspection scores. One key factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these can be quite minor. This nursing home was hit with 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This means that the inspectors didn't consider any of these deficiencies an immediate threat to resident safety or health. Remember that deficiency-free inspection reports are rare in this industry.

In our short-term care assessment, we strive to craft a valuable measure for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we assess the facility's scope of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last measure we assessed in this area is the number of residents that ultimately returned home from the nursing home. We found that just 4.8 percent of this facility's patients returned home. Unfortunately, this was below average.

The next area we assessed was long-term care. We gave it a grade of B- in that category. This is a perfectly acceptable grade in this category. For long-term care residents, the primary objective is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. On top of assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia.
