Facility Inspections
To pair with its relatively modest overall score, we gave this nursing home an A for our inspections rating. This grade is far better than the facility's overall score. Inspection scores are based on datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this category typically have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple relatively minor dings aren't something to panic about.

Another one of this nursing home's higher category grades was in the category of short-term care. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B+. In determining our short-term care scores, we analyze a facility's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. This area is frequently a useful measure of a facility's ability to rehabilitate patients. This nursing home employs both physical therapists and registered nurses. Not all facilities employ these skilled professionals. The last measure we considered in this category is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. It performed as well as just about any nursing home in Georgia in this area with 62.5 percent of its residents returning home. With most nursing homes, fewer than half of their short-term residents are able to return home.
Nurse Quality
This facility's next best category grade came in the area of nursing. In that category, we gave this nursing home a grade of B-. The nursing score analyzes several factors, many of which are associated with nursing hours. Based on the CMS data, this nursing home offers 3.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based measures, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed admirably in this area.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility's least impressive category is long-term care, which is the final category we scored. Sadly, it received an F in this area. Despite some decent grades in other areas, this score is still disappointing so we felt obligated to make sure you are aware. Facilities that receive this type of grade in long-term care likely don't provide the type of consistent 24/7 care that some other nursing homes offer. After we finished assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination records. This facility vaccinated 92.72727 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.62 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This is its best score in this category.
