In addition to being a quality nursing home overall, this nursing home excelled in the area of short-term care, where it received a grade of A. Few nursing homes performed better in this area. Short-term care grades are commonly employed to measure a facility's rehabilitation services. To offer highly rated rehabilitation services, facilities generally must provide better levels of highly skilled nursing services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final metric we considered in this category is the percentage of residents that were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that 5.6 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Turning to another of this facility's strengths, it also earned a very impressive inspection rating. In that category, we gave this nursing home an impressive grade of B+. Our inspection ratings are tied to pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this category have very few deficiencies on their reports. While this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G through L. This means CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple relatively minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.

Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
