Facility Inspections
While we gave this nursing home a terrible overall score, we gave it a grade of B for our inspections category. This is the result of the facility receiving a decent government inspection report this year. These inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. In spite of this deficiency, this place still had a relatively positive inspection report.
Short-term Care Quality
Sadly, this nursing home's second most respectable category was short-term care. As it turns out, with a D in this category, it still performed somewhat badly. Our short-term care grades are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of skilled nursing services. This means a vast spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. With a score of this caliber for this area, we weren't stunned to find that this facility was well below average in the two key staffing figures we focus on. The nursing home offered substantially fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most nursing homes. Finally, we assessed the number of patients that ultimately returned home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 5.4 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality
This facility ended up receiving a a very poor score in our long-term care category. It received an F in this area. If you are looking for anything other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care scores. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 99.70588 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is higher than the majority of nursing homes. To our surprise, this nursing home was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Sadly, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
Nurse Quality
The final area we looked at is nursing, in which this nursing home received a bottom of the barrel grade here also. Sadly, it received an abysmal F for this category, which is obviously very concerning. In calculating our nursing ratings, we analyze both staffing levels and the skill levels of the nurses. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing ratings. This nursing home performed well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these data points to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.
