Facility Inspections

Grade: B-minus

Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a B- for our inspections rating. In fact, the facility received very impressive inspection report this year. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining these inspection scores. One of those factors is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies are quite minor. This nursing home received 8 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies to cause an immediate risk to resident safety or health. A few minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

Included in this nursing home's several poor grades was its F in the area of short-term care. Our short-term care scores are vital for individuals seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically mandates additional skilled nursing services. This means a vast range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other types of therapy. With its score in this area, we weren't stunned to discover that this place was well below average in terms of the quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the data we looked at. The final metric we assessed in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 5.5 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is well below average. The combination of these poor metrics sunk this nursing home's short-term care score.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

In addition, we gave this facility an F in the area of nursing care. There are numerous datapoints within this category. Many of these criteria are tied to the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This place provided only 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident daily. This is not a very impressive figure. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility fared well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

Turning to the last area, this nursing home didn't perform very well here either. With a poor grade of F in long-term care, this is about as terrible as it gets. If you are looking for anything other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care ratings. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by nurses, we next considered the facility's vaccination record. We were pleased to learn that this facility vaccinates 98.9011 percent of its residents for pneumonia. To our surprise, this place also fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
