Short-term Care Quality
In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home excelled in our shot-term care category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A for that category. In the area of short-term care, we seek to evaluate measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We assess the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical and occupational therapists. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, based on the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.8 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
Nurse Quality
Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A-. Nursing grades are primarily based on a facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home averages 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections
This nursing home also received excellent inspections in recent years. We awarded it one of our best scores in that area, with a score of A-. Our inspection grades weigh a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with higher scores in this area generally have few severe deficiencies. Although this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple minor deficiencies are not something to panic about.
Long-term Care Quality
The next category we graded was long-term care, in which this nursing home received a B. While this proved to be its poorest category rating, this is still an above average rating. Nursing homes that excel in this category tend to be well-staffed and offer extensive hands on care to patients. In addition to looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 97.47634 percent of its residents, which is very impressive. Pneumonia is too frequently a dangerous illness for nursing home patients so we like it when a nursing home doesn't leave its residents vulnerable. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
