Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

In addition to performing well overall, this nursing home received a very good inspection report this year as well. For this reason, it earned one of our better scores in that category with a B+. Our inspection ratings are based on several datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this category typically have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. While this place had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G through L. This tells you that the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Remember that deficiency-free inspections are rare in the industry.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing score. In fact, nursing turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we gave this nursing home an B+. Our nursing score is primarily based on a nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

This facility is also above average in the category of long-term care, where it was awarded a grade of B. It performed better than most nursing homes in this category. When nursing homes receive this type of score in long-term care it is typically a good sign for patient care and suggests that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses and aids. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses, we turned to the facility's vaccination record. This facility vaccinated 98.94737 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia sadly can be a dangerous condition for nursing home patients so we prefer when a nursing home does not roll the dice on this issue. Lastly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

Switching gears to our next area, this nursing home was given a B- for short-term care, which we consider to be an acceptable rating. In the category of short-term care, we endeavor to evaluate measures of a facility's rehabilitation services. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical, occupational and other therapists. We weren't able to find information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. Finally, we considered the percentage of residents who eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 4.4 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was well below average.
