Facility Inspections
Although this place's overall score was terrible, it fared pretty well in the category of inspections. In fact, we awarded it a B+ for that category, which is one of our better scores. Perhaps the most significant factor we look at in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. It is generally in your best interest to avoid nursing homes that have too many deficiencies. Fortunately, although this facility had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.
Nurse Quality
We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating and that actually turned out to be its second highest score. Our nursing rating is mostly tied to a nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home averaged only 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility fared well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.

Short-term Care Quality
Additionally, we gave this facility an F in the area of short-term care. Our short-term care grades are critical for people looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually utilizes more skilled nursing. This means a wide spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Considering its score in this area, we weren't stunned to learn that this place was well below average in terms of its number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the figures we assessed. Frankly, this was what we expected here. Lastly, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that just 4 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to the next category, this facility really did not fare well in this category either. Due to an abysmal grade of F in long-term care, this is really as as uninspiring as it gets. Nursing homes that do not fare well in this category often don't provide as much nursing care and also may be struggling in some of the areas of routine medical care we looked at. Once we looked at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. We were disappointed to learn that this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 58.433735 percent of its patients for pneumonia. To our surprise, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
