Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

Although we did not rate this nursing home highly overall, we want to draw your attention to its nearly flawless inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A- in this category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining our inspection ratings. One key factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be relatively minor. This particular nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

This nursing home's next highest category ended up being its short-term care grade, where it received a grade of C. Our short-term care ratings are important for people seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally mandates higher levels of highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a wide spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, this place was below average in terms of its number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the metrics we assessed. The last datapoint we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who returned home from the nursing home. We found that just 4.7 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home. This figure was below average.

Nurse Quality

Grade: D

We were stunned to find that this nursing home also excelled in the category of nursing. We awarded it an impressive grade of D for that category, which is one of our highest scores. We analyzed the licensure of nurses employed by the facility, as well as the number of hours the nurses were with residents, in determining our grade in this area. With a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident daily, this facility's nurse staffing levels were quite a bit below average. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing ratings. This nursing home performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

The final category we graded is long-term care. Sadly, it received a lowly F in this area, which is a very poor grade. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in this category it generally means the facility did not perform well in our measures relating to resident care. One of the factors we considered on top of nurse's aid hours was vaccines. Candidly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to just 51.13122 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best score in this category.
