Facility Inspections
Although we graded this place incredibly poorly overall, it actually received a very impressive inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our better grades in that area with a grade of B+. Inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This nursing home received 8 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that the government inspectors did not deem any of these deficiencies an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that this facility earned a reasonably solid short-term care rating this year. We gave it a C in this area. Our short-term care grades are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a broad spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other nursing homes. The tricky part is determining what bearing this had on the quality of care. The final metric we considered in this category is the percentage of residents who ultimately returned home from the facility. We found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home. This figure was below average.

Nurse Quality
We also wanted to draw your attention to this facility's poor nursing grade where it received an F. Our nursing grade assesses the facility's nurse staffing levels. We look at both the levels of licensure of those nurses as well as the amount of time spent with residents. This place offered a meager 0.2 hours of nursing care per patient each day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing scores. This facility performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. Many consider these areas to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we graded was long-term care, where this facility was given an abysmal score in this area as well. It received an abysmal F for this category, which is obviously a major concern. When facilities receive a score in this range in this category it typically means the nursing home didn't perform well in our measures relating to resident care. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination statistics. Frankly, we were a bit worried that this nursing home vaccinated 49.222797 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is quite a bit lower than the national average. To our surprise, this nursing home actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
