Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

In addition to performing well in its overall grade, this nursing home performed at an even higher level in the area of inspections. In fact, it received a nearly flawless inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in that category with a score of A-. Inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G through L. This means CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Another strong feature for this facility is that it was given a favorable long-term care grade. In fact, this wound up being its second best category score. In that area, we awarded this nursing home a B+. Facilities that receive this kind of score in this category typically provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are well cared for. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 66.06335 percent of its residents. This is a bit lower than we were hoping for. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, we were pleased to find facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

Adding to its profile, this facility also earned a grade of B+ for its nursing rating. This is a well above average score in this category. The nursing grade weighs a handful of factors, but the most important one is the level of nurse hours per patient per week. This facility provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

Turning to the last category, this nursing home received a high-end short-term care grade. This nursing home didn't prove to have any weak areas. Our short-term care grades are probably most important for those needing rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation usually requires more highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes not just nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. The last statistic we looked at in this area is the number of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
