Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this facility highly overall, we want to point out its nearly flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A in this category. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. It is typically best to avoid places that have a long list of severe deficiencies. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. In spite of this deficiency, this place still received a relatively favorable report.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home received its second best category grade in the area of long-term care. We awarded this nursing home a B- in this area, which is a decent grade. In a long-term care environment, the primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We were a bit concerned this facility vaccinated just 88.10811 percent of its residents. On a more positive note, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Nurse Quality
We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating. The nursing score weighs several datapoints, but the most important one is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing ratings. This place fared well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we analyzed is short-term care, in which this facility received a rock bottom grade here also. It received an abysmal F in this category, which is obviously a major concern. Short-term care scores are based on a facility's quantity of skilled nursing services. This means a broad spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other variations of therapy. With a score in this range in this category, we weren't surprised to discover that this facility was below average in several staffing figures we assess. In fact, it provided far fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most nursing homes. Finally, we considered the percentage of patients who eventually returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.6 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
