On top of performing well overall, this nursing home received even higher grades in our short-term care rating. In fact, it earned one of our best grades in that area with an A. In calculating our short-term care scores, we analyze the facility's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists speech therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This score is frequently a solid assessment of the nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last datapoint we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients that eventually returned home from the facility. We found that 6.3 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

In addition, this nursing home received top notch inspections in recent years. We awarded them one of our better scores in that category, with an A-. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures. While this facility got docked a bit for its nursing hours, it actually excelled in a few of these quality-based measures. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it did well in this statistic. This is typically a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can often be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by having a system of turning a resident even once per day.

The last area we rated is long-term care. We awarded this nursing home a C in this category. In the category of long-term care, we focus more on the amount of care offered by a nursing home, as opposed to more healthcare-oriented services. After assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 97.9021 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is better than most nursing homes. This facility was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
