Facility Inspections
We also wanted to point out the fact that this nursing home has received near flawless government inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A+ in this category. These inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This nursing home received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered to be major deficiencies. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies to pose an immediate threat to resident safety or health. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B. There are quite a few datapoints within this area. Many of these subcategories relate to staffing levels. This particular nursing home provided 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this facility excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any place Ohio in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a policy of moving residents at least once a day.

In determining our long-term care scores, we analyze the assistance with daily living received by a facility's patients. Once we looked at the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination data. We were pleased to learn that this nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients for pneumonia. This facility also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital.
