Although we didn't give this nursing home a good overall score, we actually awarded it a fairly strong grade in the area of long-term care, where it received a grade of B. When facilities receive a grade in this range in this category it typically means it's well-staffed and is a quality place to reside on a permanent basis. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 96.44269 percent of its patients, which is what we like to see. Pneumonia sadly is often a deadly health condition for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a nursing home does not roll the dice on this issue. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can typically be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
