In addition to being a great overall grade, this facility also received A+ health inspections in recent years. Its inspections were virtually flawless. Our inspection scores account for a host of factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher scores in this area generally have very few of these severe deficiencies. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last metric we looked at in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our nursing category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can often be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as having a protocol of turning patients at least once a day.

Nursing homes that excel in this category typically are well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to residents. After considering the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination record. This facility vaccinated 94.90446 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is more than the average nursing home. Lastly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
