Although we were not high on this nursing home overall, we awarded it a grade of B+ for our inspections category. This score is far better than the place's overall score. Inspection scores are based on datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key item to look for on these reports. Most importantly, you should avoid facilities with severe deficiencies associated with risks to resident well being. This place was hit with 9 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe. This tells you that the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies to be an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.

The last area we analyzed was long-term care. This facility was given a bottom of the barrel grade of F in that category. Long-term care scores of this caliber generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids, as well as the levels of routine medical care available. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Frankly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility administered the vaccine to a relatively low 71.00592 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this nursing home actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had just 0.06 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
