Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

One of the many reasons this turned out to be a quality nursing home is that it received an A+ inspection grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. Our inspection ratings are based on pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this area typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

To add to its top-shelf assessments in other areas, we gave this nursing home a grade of A- for its long-term care score. Facilities that do well in long-term care typically provide patients with more supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. One of the statistics we considered after nursing hours is vaccinations. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to 97.87234 percent of its residents. This is a reliable method to minimize negative health outcomes for the nursing home population. Lastly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Turning to the next area, this nursing home also earned a score of B for its short-term care rating. This is a well above average grade in this category. In calculating our short-term care scores, we scrutinize a facility's levels of highly skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists speech therapists and other licensed professionals. This area is generally a reliable measure of the nursing home's rehabilitation. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, according to the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final metric we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that 4.7 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
