Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To go along with its strong overall score, we gave this place a grade of A+ for inspections. Our inspection grades are tied to many items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that receive favorable grades in this category tend to have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Although this facility had some deficiencies on its report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our nursing category. Nursing scores are mostly tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can typically be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

We also wanted to draw your attention to the fact that this facility was awarded a high-end score of A in our short-term care category. Our short-term care ratings are critical for individuals looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires additional highly-skilled nursing services. This means a vast range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last datapoint we considered in this area is the number of patients that who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. We found that 6 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In the final category we assessed, this facility was given a very favorable grade of B+ in our long-term care category. With this grade, the nursing home completed an elite report card. When nursing homes receive this type of grade in this category it is typically a good sign for resident care and indicates that the facility is well-staffed with nurses aids. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 98.56322 percent of its residents, which is far higher than the average nursing home. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
