Facility Inspections
On top of being a strong facility overall, it also received A+ government inspections recently. Its inspections were virtually perfect. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Facilities with better scores in this area typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. This facility received 8 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This means that the inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies to pose an immediate threat to resident health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
We also gave this facility a grade of A+ for its long-term care grade. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in this category typically provide consistent around the clock care to ensure residents are well cared for. In addition to considering the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 98.8189 percent of its residents, which is far higher than the majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Nurse Quality
Another reason we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received an A+ nursing grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this category. We analyzed the qualifications of nurses at the nursing home, as well as the quantity of time the nurses were with residents, in calculating our rating in this category. This nursing home provides 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the country in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as having a protocol of turning patients even once per day.
Short-term Care Quality
In the final category we scored, this nursing home was awarded a very favorable grade of A in our short-term care category. With this score, the nursing home wrapped up a straight A profile. With our short-term care category, we attempt to craft a fair gauge for rehabilitation. In doing so, we assess a facility's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.2 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
