The nursing rating analyzes many factors, however, the most important consideration is the quantity of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Adding to its impressive profile, this nursing home also performed well in the category of inspections. In fact, it received a nearly flawless inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in that area with a score of A-. Our inspection scores are based on pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspections. Places that excel in this area have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple minor dings aren't something to panic about.

This nursing home is also above average in the category of short-term care, where it was awarded a score of B+. It performed better than most nursing homes in this category. Short-term care scores are based on the nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a broad spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, not to mention other types of therapy. It doesn't appear that this facility provided information on registered nurse or physical therapist staffing. The last measure we looked at in this category is the number of patients that ultimately returned home from the nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

The final category we scored is long-term care. We gave this nursing home a solid grade in that category, with a C. While this was not as favorable as many of its other scores, it is still not a terrible score. For prospective patients in need of a permanent place to live rather than skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. On top of assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We found that this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 6.122451 percent of its residents, which is somewhat alarming. On a more positive note, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
