Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to receiving a strong overall rating, this nursing home earned an A+ inspection rating. This grade is based on its recent government inspections. An A+ in this area is one of the best complements we can offer a facility. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing our inspection scores. One of those factors is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some are relatively minor. Unfortunately, it does not appear that we were able to find information on deficiency's for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

To complement its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Our nursing score is largely tied to a facility's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.7 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

We also want to draw your attention to the fact that this facility was given a first-rate score of A in our long-term care category. Nursing homes that do well in long-term care tend to provide residents with closer supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. After looking at the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is significantly higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Turning to our final area, this facility also performed well in our short-term care category. We awarded it a grade of A in this area. This finalized a straight A profile. Short-term care ratings are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of skilled nursing services. This includes a broad scope of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
