Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to being a great overall grade, this facility also received A+ health inspections in recent years. Its inspections were virtually flawless. Perhaps the most important factor we consider in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. Places with better scores in this category typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This nursing home received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This tells you that the inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to be an imminent risk to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A- in that category. Our nursing rating consists of a handful of factors, many of which are tied to nursing hours. This nursing home averages 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Moving on our next category, this nursing home was given a top-shelf long-term care score. In fact, we gave it a score of A- in that category. Long-term care scores of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. After looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 89.939026 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which happens to be a bit below what we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable figure. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The final area we analyzed is short-term care. This nursing home was given a better than average short-term care rating this year, with a B-. While this was not nearly as strong as some of its other grades, this is nevertheless an acceptable score in that category. Our short-term care ratings are based on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a broad range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, we were not able to find information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The final item we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that just 4.3 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is below average.
