Facility Inspections
In addition to being a quality facility overall, this place also excelled in our inspections category, where it earned an A-. Few nursing homes performed better in that area. Inspection ratings are tied to several items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that receive favorable grades in this area have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Although this place had a few deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. Remember that deficiency-free inspections are rare in this industry.
Nurse Quality
This facility received a very good nursing grade this year as well. It received one of our better scores in that category with a grade of B. Our nursing score considers numerous subcategories. The most important one is the amount of time nurses spent with residents. This facility provided 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality
The third area we analyzed is long-term care, where this nursing home received a B- in this category. Long-term care ratings are based on the facility's volume of care. This means a vast range of personal care services, ranging from assistance with activities of daily living to routine medical services. One of the statistics we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours was vaccinations. Frankly, we were a bit worried that this facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to a relatively low 85.039375 percent of its patients. Nevertheless, this facility excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we assessed was short-term care. We gave it a grade of B- in that category. This is basically a middle of the road grade in this category. In the category of short-term care, we try to evaluate indicators of a facility's rehabilitation. We assess a nursing home's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and physical and occupational therapists. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The final metric we assessed in this category is the number of residents who ultimately returned home from the nursing home. We found that just 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home. This figure was below average.
