Facility Inspections
While we did not rate this place favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively solid inspections in recent years. We gave it a B+ in this area, which is much better than its overall grade. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection grades. One of those factors is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some end up being relatively insignificant. While this place had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home's long-term care rating turns out to be one of its more favorable features. The facility was awarded a C in this category. If you are seeking services other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care grades. On top of assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We were a bit alarmed this nursing home administered the vaccine to a relatively low 26.254826 percent of its patients. On a more positive note, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, this facility only received a grade of D for its nursing grade, which was actually one of its better category grades. There are quite a few factors within this category. Many of these subcategories are tied to nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing scores. This facility performed well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
The next area we rated was short-term care. Sadly, it received an F in this area, which is an abysmal score. With our short-term care assessment, we attempt to craft a meaningful barometer for rehabilitation. In this process, we look at a facility's levels of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents that ultimately were able to return home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.6 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
