Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

On top of earning a strong overall score, this facility performed well in our nursing category. We gave it an A- for that category, which is one of our highest scores. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Short-term Care Quality

This nursing home truly excelled in the category of short-term care, where it received a grade of A-. Very few facilities performed better in this area. In determining our short-term care grades, we size up the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists speech therapists and other types of therapists. This grade is more often than not a solid assessment of a facility's rehabilitation services. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

This nursing home also received top notch inspections in recent years. We awarded them one of our better grades in that area, with an impressive grade of B+. Perhaps the most important factor we look at in calculating our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher scores in this category most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. While this facility had a few minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G through L. This means the government inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies are not something to panic about.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The next area we looked at was long-term care, where this nursing home was awarded a B. This facility did not end up having any weak areas. Facilities that excel in this category typically are well-staffed and offer extensive hands on care to residents. Once we looked at the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 97.59036 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Vaccines are vital to keeping patients out of the hospital. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
