Registered Staff Hours
Long-term Care Quality
We really could not find anything positive to say about this place. It received a D in long-term care. In a long-term care setting, the facility's primary goal is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 96.19883 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is better than the average nursing home. To our surprise, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Sadly, a few of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
Facility Inspections
This nursing home received a grade of just D in the area of inspections. Sadly, this was its second best score. Inspection grades weigh several factors included in a facility's inspection report. Generally, you should be especially cautious when considering a facility that has severe deficiencies on its inspection reports. This facility was assessed 3 deficiencies by CMS. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they created a threat to resident health or safety. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.

Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, we gave this facility an F for its nursing grade. The nursing grade weighs a host of subcategories. The most heavily weighted one is the number of hours nurses spent with patients. This nursing home averaged just 0.1 hours of nursing care per patient daily. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing ratings. This nursing home fared well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to our fourth category, this nursing home did not perform well here either. With a poor grade of F in short-term care, this is just about as terrible as it gets. In calculating these short-term care ratings, we quantify the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The goal is to formulate a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of various facilities. With its score in this category, we weren't stunned to find that this nursing home was well below average in terms of its number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its residents based on the figures we looked at. Honestly, this was about what we expected to find. The last item we assessed in this area is the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. This facility struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 3.6 percent of its patients returning home.
