While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of C. We would argue that one of the most important factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially look at the severity of the deficiencies. This facility was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were in categories G through L. This indicates this facility avoided the more serious classes of deficiencies. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received some government fines in recent years.

Unfortunately, this nursing home's next most respectable score was short-term care. As it turns out, with a grade of D in this category, it still fared somewhat poorly. Our short-term care ratings are thought to be more meaningful for patients requiring rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation typically utilizes higher levels of highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes not merely nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other types of therapy. Based on its score in this category, we weren't surprised to discover that this facility is well below average in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its patients based on the figures we looked at. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. This nursing home did not fare well here either. We found that just 47.6 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Another unfortunate development was the F this nursing home was given in the category of long-term care. For residents seeking a permanent residence as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is an important category. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by nurses, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. We were pleased to learn that this facility vaccinates 99.393936 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.

The next area we rated was nursing. This facility received a bottom of the barrel grade of F in this area. When calculating our nursing scores, we weigh both the number of hours nurses spend with residents and the training levels of those nurses. This place offered a meager 2.9 hours of nursing care per resident each day. Lastly, we also looked at a few quality measures in computing our nursing grades. This place was above average in two of the major areas we considered, with good marks for avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
