This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is a low total compared with most facilities. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place surprisingly excelled in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In fact, it performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

When nursing homes receive this type of grade in this category it is typically a bad sign for patient care and it may indicate that the facility is not as well-staffed. On top of looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. To our surprise, this place actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.

With a score of this caliber for this category, we were not stunned to find this place was below average in the two key staffing areas we focus on. The nursing home offered significantly fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most nursing homes. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. This definitely wasn't a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 3.8 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home. At most facilities, around half of their residents are able to return home so this is well below average.
