Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home excelled in our shot-term care category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A for that category. Short-term care ratings are based in part on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a broad spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 6 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

Adding to its impressive category scores, this nursing home excelled in the area of inspections, where it earned an A-. Few nursing homes performed better in this area. Inspection grades account for a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we consider is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher scores in this category tend to have few of these severe deficiencies. Unfortunately, we weren't able to locate deficiency counts for this nursing home. We wish we had more data for this facility. Without having information regarding deficiencies, it is a challenge to really assess it in terms of this category.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

Adding to its impressive resume, this nursing home also excelled in our nursing category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A- for that category. Nursing ratings are primarily associated with the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next area we scored is long-term care. We awarded this facility a solid grade in that category, with a grade of B-. Although this was not on par with a few of this nursing home's other grades, it is nevertheless not a bad grade. If you are seeking services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care ratings. In addition to assessing the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 99.76415 percent of its patients, which is higher than the majority of nursing homes. This place also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
