Facility Inspections
In addition to receiving a strong overall rating, this nursing home performed even better in our inspections category which is based on the nursing home's recent government inspection reports. In fact, we gave it an A for this category, which is one of our highest scores. These inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. You can not do much better than a deficiency-free inspection report.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing rating. In that area, we gave this nursing home an B. The nursing score assesses quite a few subcategories, however, the main consideration is the level of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the country in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can often be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as employing a protocol of moving patients at least once a day.

Short-term Care Quality
This facility's third best area ended up being short-term care. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of B-. In determining our short-term care grades, we analyze a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other highly trained professionals. This rating is frequently a meaningful assessment of the nursing home's rehabilitation. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 4.3 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.
Long-term Care Quality
Turning to our final category, this nursing home was given an acceptable long-term care score of B-. Long-term care scores are based in part on the nursing home's amount of care. This includes a vast scope of personal care services, ranging from help with activities of daily living to routine healthcare services. Once we finished looking at the volume of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. Candidly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 89.57447 percent of its patients for pneumonia. On a more positive note, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
