Facility Inspections
While we did not rate this facility favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively favorable inspections in recent years. We gave it a B in this category, which was much better than its overall grade. These inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Although this facility had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. A few minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
One of this facility's more respectable category scores was in the category of short-term care. This ended up being its second best category. In that category, we awarded this nursing home a C. With our short-term care score, we seek to forge a sound gauge for rehabilitation services. In this process, we look at the facility's offerings of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Unfortunately, this place was below average in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the metrics we assessed. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Nurse Quality
We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of C. When calculating our nursing scores, we analyze both nursing hours and the levels of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home averages just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Lastly, while this place got dinged a bit for its nursing hours per resident, it actually excelled in some of our quality measures. With less than five percent of its residents experiencing pressure ulcers, it did very well in this area.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to our last area, this facility really didn't perform well in this category either. Due to a bottom of the barrel grade of F in long-term care, this is just about as terrible as it gets. For long-term care residents, the primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. After assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination statistics. We were optimistic to discover that this facility vaccinated 96.713615 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had just 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
