One of the many reasons this turned out to be a quality nursing home is that it received an A+ inspection grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in calculating our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with better scores in this area typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. We weren't able to find information about this nursing home's deficiencies. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Adding to its strong resume, this nursing home also was awarded an excellent short-term care score, with a grade of A. With our short-term care category, we seek to create a fair barometer for rehabilitation. In this process, we analyze the facility's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. This nursing home boosted its score in this category by offering more physical therapy hours to its residents than the average facility. The final statistic we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that it fared as well as just about any nursing home in Arizona in this area with 69.7 percent of its residents returning home. At most facilities, fewer than half of their short-term residents are able to return home.
