On top of being a great nursing home overall, it also earned A+ health inspections recently. Its inspections are virtually perfect. Our inspection scores are based on items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that score well in this area tend to have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This nursing home was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered to be severe. This means that CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies to cause an immediate threat to patient health or safety. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor made us feel better about this inspection report.

Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

This facility also excelled in the area of short-term care, where it received a grade of A. Only a select group of nursing homes performed better in this category. In doing so, we look at the facility's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Finally, we considered the number of residents who were able to return home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.

The final category we scored is long-term care, where this nursing home was given a B-. While this wound up being its least impressive category rating, this is still not the end of the world. For prospective residents looking for a permanent residence rather than skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Frankly, we were a bit worried that this facility gave the vaccine to a relatively low 89.28571 percent of its residents. On a more positive note, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
